After training as a pianist, Kamil Ben Hsaïn Lachiri, of Italian and Moroccan origins, discovered singing at  the Conservatory of Namur, his hometown.

He is a laureate of the Royal Opera House La Monnaie in Brussels, where he is regularly invited. The young Belgian baritone has performed on many important European stages such as Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Opéra National de Normandie Rouen, Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Finnish National Opera in Helsinki, Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse, Opéras of Dijon, Aachen, Lille, Frankfurt…

Recent performances include his acclaimed debuts as Papageno / Die Zauberflöte and as Leporello / Don Giovanni, both at Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse, the solo baritone in Ligeti’s New Adventures at Frankfurt Opera, the Clock and the Cat / L’Enfant et les sortilèges at Monte-Carlop Opera.

Baroque music also holds a special place in Kamil’s repertoire as he started in career with the Centre for Vocal Art and Early Music in Namur and sang a.o. with Jordi Savall in Toulouse.

A laureate of Voix Nouvelles Competition, and winner of the Honda and Voice of Shakespeare Competitions, Kamil Ben Hsaïn Lachiri also holds degrees in economics and finance.
